Update
KNYSNA NEWS - Knysna traffic officer Linden White was discharged from hospital on Saturday 7 March after three days of treatment for injuries sustained when he was struck by a motorist during a routine traffic stop on Tuesday 3 March.
According to a family member, White continues to receive treatment and rehabilitation.
“Although his condition is improving, he remains in significant pain and is undergoing regular physiotherapy and medical check-ups,” the family member said.
The family member added that White also sustained a concussion and is still experiencing some confusion as a result. He continues to be monitored by his doctor while receiving ongoing physiotherapy for severe back pain. “Treatment is progressing well and we are confident that he will make a full recovery.”
Meanwhile, the bail application of the 65-year-old accused, which was heard on Thursday 5 March, was postponed to 18 March due to an outstanding medical report relating to the accused. He was remanded in custody.
The accused faces charges of:
• Attempted murder
• Reckless and negligent driving
• Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
• Failure to comply with the instruction of a peace officer
• Resisting arrest.
