KNYSNA NEWS - And just like that, the Knysna Oyster Festival has officially begun with its kick-off event at the Turbine Hotel & Spa on Thursday 29 June.
This year’s Oyster Festival holds great significance as it is the 40th year that it is held.
The kick-off event provided the opportunity for locals and festival organisers to mingle while being treated to lively musical performances.
“The Knysna Oyster Festival holds a special place in our hearts, having been an integral part of our cultural fabric for four remarkable decades,” said Deputy Mayor Alberto Marbi.
Executive Mayor Ndoda Aubrey Tswenga said this year, everybody embraces the theme that encapsulates the Knysna Oyster Festival: to have a whale of time. “Let us all as locals enjoy ourselves and immerse ourselves in this joyous time and take advantage of all that our beautiful town has to offer,” he encouraged the guests.
Organisers of the Knysna Oyster Festival thank the following persons and organisations for the success of the opening evening: DCAS, Standard Bank, Savannah, K and Monty Wine Farms, Peckwood Wine Farms, Eden Honey Distillery, Sedgefield Brewery, Director of Planning Randy Daames, Lungi, Thozeka Sali and Keagon Borchards of Visit Knysna, and Kirsty Hofhuis of Knysna Municipality.
