Update
KNYSNA NEWS - The provincial police commissioner, Lieutenant General SW Dyantyi, and senior police management are attending the court appearance of two suspects of the death of Aubrey Tsengwa.
Dyantyi will engage the media on the progress of the police investigation afterwards.
The media houses in attendance were denied permission to photograph or videograph the court proceedings as three identification parades need to be conducted. Acting Regional Court Prosecutor Cameron Roode stated that allowing this request might hinder the investigations at this stage.
The media was accordingly invited to attend a briefing outside the Knysna Magistrate’s Court as soon as the court session is concluded.
The proceedings have been moved to Court C, which is larger and can accommodate more members of the public and media.
However, the restrictions prohibiting anyone from taking photographs or recording video inside the courtroom remain in place.
