KNYSNA NEWS - A 48-year-old woman from Rheenendal has surrendered herself to the police after she allegedly stabbed her 50-year-old partner to death.
According to a police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Pojie, the suspect and the deceased had had an altercation at about 19:20 on Tuesday 18 August, during which the woman allegedly stabbed the man in the chest.
Pojie said the injured man ran from the house and collapsed in the street, where medical personnel attended to him. He succumbed to his wound on the scene.
The members on the scene followed up on information that led them to the suspect’s residence, where she surrendered herself.
“The 48-year-old woman was arrested and detained on a charge of murder,” Pojie said.
She is scheduled to appear in the Knysna Magistrate’s Court today, Thursday 20 August.
