KNYSNA NEWS - The annual Leisure Isle festival went off without a hitch on Saturday and Sunday, 4 and 5 November at Kingsway Park on Leisure Isle.
There was an enormous turnout with Knysnarians flocking to the picturesque outdoor market to enjoy a variety of food, drinks, activities, arts and crafts exhibitions as well as live musical entertainment.
This year's festival extended its community reach by donating 10% of profits to 10 non-profit organisations, namely Knysna Sedgefield Hospice, ePap, TS Knysna Sea Cadets, Knysna Education Trust (Ket), Kaws, Vermont Old Age Home, Child Welfare Knysna, Steenbok Nature Reserve, Hands and Hearts Hope HQ and iThemba Skills Development Centre.
"This year's Leisure Isle Festival was a resounding success and a big thanks must be said to the Knysna Community for their wonderful support!" says Bobbie Sharp, one of the festival organisers.
Christmas came early at this year's Leisure Isle Festival.
"Despite a rather windy Saturday, people arrived in their droves to wander through the 109 high-end stalls that offered unique products, food and entertainment. Local charities also made up some of the stalls raising funds and additional stalls were added for emerging crafters at the entryway to the festival.
"The committee would like to offer our heartfelt thanks to our main sponsor of the festival, Lew Geffen Sotheby's Realty Knysna, the volunteers who gave of their time and friends of the festival who all made this wonderful event possible."
Knysna Education Trust had a stall where they provided fun and educational entertainment for the kids.
