KNYSNA NEWS - There is light at the end of the tunnel for Akkerkloof Dam as Knysna Municipality has announced that it has surpassed the 50% capacity mark.
This follows months of focused interventions to improve water supply and storage levels.
Municipal officials credited the achievement to the successful installation and operation of an additional pump at the Charlesford extraction site, which has enabled more water to be transferred consistently into the Akkerkloof Dam.
The municipality also acknowledged the collective efforts of everyone involved in the project, thanking the teams responsible for getting the additional pump operational and maintaining the increased water transfer.
Residents are encouraged to continue using water responsibly to ensure the dam continues to recover and remains resilient during future dry periods.
