PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - An 87-year-old Plettenberg Bay man was attacked during a robbery at his Keurbooms Heights home this week.
Police spokesperson Captain Marlene Pieterse said three unknown armed men stormed the man’s home when he opened his kitchen door for his cat on Monday evening, 5 February.
Pieterse said two of the suspects wore balaclavas. “They attacked the victim with a crowbar and then tied him up before taking him to a top floor bedroom.”
She added that the suspects then proceeded to ransack the house and fled with a flat screen television, two watches, a wallet, various credit cards and R1 600 in cash. They also made off with the victim’s A-Class Mercedes Benz.
Two suspects were found and arrested and the vehicle was recovered.
This is the second attack in Plett in one week targeting an elderly resident after Hospice nurse Penny Cumming was murdered in her Schoongesicht home on the previous Monday.
