Update
PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Plettenberg Bay residents and security stakeholders have started gathering at the local magistrate's court where the alleged murderer of the 63-year-old Schoongezigt Country Estate woman is expected to appear today.
Penelope Cumming's naked and bruised body was found on the floor of her Schoongezigt Country Estate home in Piesang Valley Road on Monday 29 January.
Police believe she may have been strangled.
Her Volvo SUV had also been reported missing.
Her partially burnt out vehicle was found later that day in Nekkies in Knysna and the suspect in the murder was arrested on Tuesday January 30, 2018 near a school in Kwanokuthula in Plett.
Local resident Gay Clark had since called on the Bitou community to gather at the Plettenberg Bay Magistrate's Court on Thursday morning.
"We as a community need to stand together in support of the victim and her family and show our appreciation of the police and others involved in arrest as well as support the prosecutor in the matter," Clark said.
