Update
PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - The Plettenberg Bay community is expected to come together on Thursday, February 1 to not only support the family and friends of Penelope Cumming, who was murdered in her country estate home but to also show their appreciation to all authorities involved in the speedy arrest of her alleged murderer.
Cumming's naked and bruised body was found on the floor of her Schoongezigt Country Estate home in Piesang Valley Road on Monday, January 29. Police believe she may have been strangled.
Her partially burnt out vehicle, a Volvo SUV, was found later that day in Nekkies in Knysna and the suspect in the murder was arrested today, Tuesday, January 30 near a school in Kwanokuthula in Plettenberg Bay.
Local resident Gay Clark has called on the Bitou community to gather at the Plettenberg Bay Magistrate's Court on Thursday morning.
"We as a community need to stand together in support of the victim and her family and show our appreciation of the police and others involved in arrest as well as support the prosecutor in the matter," Clark said.
