PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - At 30, Khanyisani "Mashesha" Radebe is living the dream he once carried as a young footballer in Plettenberg Bay to compete in South Africa's prestigious Nedbank Cup.
The former Oriented Birds FC and Yellow Marines captain has risen from local football ranks to the national stage and now represents Milford FC in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
His club produced a clinical performance to secure a 3-0 victory over Mkhambathi FC in its last-16 clash at Umhlathuze Stadium on Sunday 22 February, booking a place in the quarter-finals.
Speaking to Knysna-Plett Herald, an elated Radebe described his rise as the fulfilment of a lifelong ambition.
"I've been dreaming about playing in the Nedbank Cup since I was a young boy. There were many ups and downs in my football journey, but I kept believing. To finally get this opportunity means everything to me."
The match itself was evenly balanced in the first half, with both teams testing each other in a tactical battle that was goalless at the break.
Milford returned for the second half with renewed intensity, making crucial adjustments that shifted momentum in their favour.
The breakthrough goal settled nerves, and two more strikes followed as the Stallions took firm control of the encounter.
Milford will now face Sikhukhune FC in the quarter-finals.
Despite their cup success, Radebe insists the squad remains focused on their primary objective of earning promotion to the Betway Premiership at the end of the season.
