Update
KNYSNA NEWS - Knysna Municipal Manager Ombali Sebola, who has been told for a second time by the Western Cape High Court to go, is still in office.
This is as a result of stipulations in the Supreme Court Act, Section 18 (4), that grants him automatic appeal to a higher court.
Now, a full bench of the Western Cape High Court will hear his appeal on Tuesday 11 June as a matter of urgency.
Sebola is believed to have exercised his right to an automatic appeal against the latest High Court judgment on 28 May by Acting Judge M Pangarkar, who refused Sebola’s application for leave to appeal her 10 May judgment, ruling his appointment “null and void”.
Requests for comment from Knysna Municipality were forwarded to Sebola personally.
The Knysna Plett Herald also requested comment from Sebola via WhatsApp, but so far no response has been received.
