KNYSNA | PLETT NEWS - With vaccinations already beginning in Knysna, Sedgefield, and Plettenberg Bay today, Monday 5 July, an improved vaccination roll-out will see vaccines administered every weekday this week.
The extended roster of vaccine roll-out in the three towns is a part of the increased vaccine allocation to the Garden Route district, which affords all of its sub-districts to open more sites on more days to administer more vaccines.
Five vaccination sites are already open today. It is also the first day on which vaccines will be administered to members of the public aged between 50 and 59, with registration for the age group having opened on Thursday 1 July.
If you have received a registration SMS, you will be able to receive your vaccine as a walk-in at the sites, but priority will be placed on those who have received an appointment SMS. There is also prioritisation, however, for individuals over the age of 60. The appointment slots will prioritised as follows:
Priority 1 - people 60 years and older requiring their first dose of Pfizer vaccine;
Priority 2 - people 60 years and older who are eligible for their second dose of Pfizer vaccine (approximately 42 days after their first dose);
Priority 3 - people aged 50-59 requiring their first dose of Pfizer vaccine.
The vaccination schedules for this week are as follows:
Knysna
• Knysna Community Day Centre (CDC) – Monday 5 to Friday 9 July
• Knysna Town Hall – Monday 5 to Friday 9 July
• Keurhoek Satellite Clinic – Friday 9 July
