PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - The 1st Plett Sea Scouts had an evening of fun, laughter and sharing scouting culture around a big bonfire on 7 December.
The troop gathered at Still Waters Farm for its annual campfire celebration to acknowledge its members' development, with scout Caitlynne-Jane Ravenscroft receiving two trophies and other scouts receiving presents and flowers.
"All the other scouts and even the cub scouts were given certificates that made them shine individually," said Ella Green, one of the scouts.
The annual campfire showcases the troop's skits, songs and personal achievements.
"Scouting is known as a worldwide organisation and noted as the largest youth organisation in the world and the Plett scout troop has been running and providing us with opportunities and success for 10 years," said Green.
After some speeches, Emily-Jane Ravenscroft lit the homemade torches to officially light the campfire and start the event.
"Throughout the evening, people laughed and we performed brand-new skits, created by ourselves. Even though a few of us made mistakes during the performances, we all had tons of fun in sharing our scouting culture," said Green.
Whooping it up around the bonfire.
