KNYSNA NEWS - Age proved no barrier to achievement at the Hornlee Civic Centre last Friday, when 30 graduates were recognised for successfully completing training through the Western Cape Government’s e-Centre Programme.
The e-centre provides a platform for learning and digital empowerment, offering access to computers, high-speed internet and training programmes, including basic computer skills, e-learner training and internationally recognised certification for digital literacy (ICDL).
The graduates completed their training through a programme delivered in collaboration with various stakeholders, supported by the Knysna Municipality.
Among the graduates, the oldest participant, aged 64, was also one of the two top achievers. His achievement served as a reminder that learning and personal development can continue at any stage of life.
A municipal security officer was also among those who completed the training, highlighting the opportunities available through the programme to people from different backgrounds and circumstances.
Mayor Thando Matika encouraged the graduates to make use of every opportunity presented to them, saying that each new skill and qualification could become a stepping stone towards a better future.
