The brainchild of Iliana Efstratiou of Audience of One Event Management, the fact that 160 guests and sponsors showed up despite the rain, gave testimony to the passion and elegant style Efstratiou brought to the coordinating of the fundraiser.
So many people showed up for the event at Shepherd’s Tree Trading Store that extra seating had to be brought in, while Owena Schutte and Dorianne du Toit of Knysna Epilepsy SA played hostesses outside where wine and snacks were served.
CEO of Knysna Tourism, Shaun van Eck: "It was a valuable part of the programme of Naturally Knysna. It captured the imagination of the public, judging by the numbers, and supported a very special business in our town. Most importantly it supports skills development and the dignity of those being trained in Epilepsy."
Efstratiou agrees. "This event was intended to meet the purpose of the Naturally Knysna Festival, to raise funds for Epilepsy Knysna as well as create an awareness of their workshop activities and ongoing needs. Lastly, and equally importantly, to give the guests a memorable, 'good for the soul' experience! I am happy to say that all intentions were met! So much good has come out of this event."
In keeping with the vintage theme, two gorgeous vintage automobiles (owned by Manie Rademeyer), formed part of the props for the event.
The 1941 Chevrolet panel van and 1968 Rambler Rogue outside the venue were thoroughly appreciated and served as backdrop for fun photographs.
A total of 135 tickets were sold and R12 105 raised for Knysna Epilepsy SA.
