PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - The Buco adventure weekend, consisting of an Easter trail run on Saturday 19 April and an adventure challenge on Sunday 20 April, was a resounding success, according to organiser James Stewart.
About 250 runners took part on Saturday, enjoying stunning weather and beautiful trails at Cairnbrogie and the surrounding MTO plantations, all of which form part of the MTO Trails Garden Route network.
Collaboration between Buco, Cairnbrogie and the Buco Adventure Team started 19 years ago, "and we look forward to our 20th anniversary in 2026," said Stewart.

The winners of the Cairnbrogie Easter trail run were:
16km men: Teswill Mitchell
16km ladies: Maggie Skinner
from Stanford in the UK
12km men: Jason Swemmer
12 km ladies: Chantal Taljaard
Adventure
The Buco Adventure, a multisport race with navigation, was held at Royston Farms in the Crags on Sunday.
The three-part challenge, consisting of an orientation challenge, a bike ride and a five-point hike, was described by Bev Coetzee as "an Easter egg hunt without chocolates at the end".

The men's solo winner was John Collins from Knysna, who is also organiser of the Otter Trail Adventure and a legendary adventurer.
Pairs winners were Petrus Malherbe and Netski Wylie.
