PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Nature conservation efforts in Plettenberg Bay were given a welcome boost by the Wildlife and Environmental Society of South Africa (WESSA).
The Plett Community Environment Forum announced recently that it has been awarded a WESSA Small Grant - to kick-start its Nature Park project in the Klein Piesang Valley in the coastal holiday town.
"This generous grant will greatly support efforts in acquiring essential equipment and planning for alien clearing in the valley as a first step of the project," the forum team said.
They also expressed their gratitude to WESSA for their "invaluable support, and to Bitou municipality for their ongoing advice and guidance".
'Positive impact'
"We are excited about the positive impact this project will have on our local environment and look forward to sharing more details as the project progresses."
The Plett Community Environment Forum is a registered non-profit organisation, made up of a group of concerned individuals and environmental organisations.
