PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - The Plett Tourism Association team announced that there will be a second edition of the well-received Plett Marine Science Symposium mid-2023 after a conservationist spotted one of the world's most endangered seahorses in the Keurbooms Estuary in Plettenberg Bay recently.
Not only was it a rare sighting, but it was established that the tiny creature, a Knysna seahorse, is carrying eggs.
The team said that the Knysna seahorse, along with its fellow estuary inhabitants, drew substantial interest during last year's symposium at the Beacon Island Hotel when the Orca Foundation's Dr Chantel Elston did a presentation on what lives in the Keurbooms Estuary.
It is expected that this year's event will be held from 30 June to 9 July.
