KNYSNA NEWS AND VIDEO - A weekend filled with racing fuel fumes and monstrously high powered cars was kicked off today with the scrutineering and parading of classic cars that will be taking on the Jaguar Simola Hillclimb.
The classic cars, 64 in total, taking part in the Jaguar Simola Hillclimb (JSHC) were checked over by judges early this morning, Thursday 3 May, and then later set off down the popular Waterfront Drive in Knysna to show residents and visitors to the town what they can expect to see charging up Simola hill on Friday 4 May.
Practice sessions for Classic Car Friday as it is known, will start at 08:30 and end at about 11:10 according to the programme. Thereafter qualifying rounds will see drivers battle it out for the final and the Classic Conqueror title. Prize giving will start at 15:45.
Friday also sees the scrutineering and parading of the beasts that will take on the King of the Hill shootout on Saturday and Sunday, 5 and 6 May.
