KNYSNA NEWS - While there was a number of residents who attributed the salty estuary water flooding Waterfront Drive in Knysna earlier this week to climate change, SA National Parks has confirmed spring tide – with the new moon out on Monday – was to blame, with water levels up reaching over 2m at times.

Sanparks Knysna manager Megan Taplin pointed out that the area has received over 50mm of rain in the last two weeks, which could have also contributed to the situation.

Knysna-resident Nichelle Swanepoel has released footage she captured of the salt water flooding in Knysna on Monday 28 October, which came as a result of spring tide, a very high swell, and plenty of rain according to Sanparks.
