PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - More than 550 revellers joined the fun at Barrington's Oktoberfest held on Saturday 11 October.
Organiser Nicola Ash said that 450 tickets were sold in advance with another 100 plus at the gate.
And it was "Prost, Prost, Prost" all day long. In the afternoon, 750 litres of beer were consumed, with the most popular tipple on the day by far the Barrington's Lager, followed by the specially brewed Fest Bier.
Ten brews and three bands outdoing themselves - Whiskey for Tea, Dukes of Note and Nomadic Orchestra - kept the revellers entertained.
Foodwise, the bratwurst with mustard and sauerkraut was by far the most popular - with about 200 portions being sold.
Annual event
Ash said the day was a massive success. "It is official: The beerfest will become an annual event every October as part of the Plett Arts Festival, with an incredible line-up of live music and locally crafted beer," she said. "A huge thank you to our sponsors Ian Zondagh and Nic Bryant of Innovative Glass Solutions - and not forgetting Barrington's Craft Brewery."
The Trellidor Strongman Competition had everyone straining.
Ash also thanked all those who dressed up for the occasion, the Beer Pong Champions, Kyle and Megan Rorke - and of course Ross Pedder who won the down-down competition in a dazzling 8,68 seconds.
Fräuleins all dressed up: Tamaryn Eedes, Kayla Wolfaardt, Lucy du Plesis and Denise McNamara.
