KNYSNA NEWS - Despite Knysna Municipality previously issuing a warning to miscreants regarding Guy Fawkes celebrations, there were still Guy Fawkes-related incidents reported in Knysna last night, 5 November.

According to Knysna Police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies, “various Knysna Police units in conjunction with police members from the Public Order Police (Pops), Knysna Municipal Law enforcement personnel and the Knysna Fire Department were deployed in Knysna in order to deal with sporadic incidents associated with the Guy Fawkes celebrations.

“The units responded effectively to areas where tyres were burned and some fireworks set off during the night. The most affected areas were Hornlee, Nekkies and Smutsville. No serious incidents or injuries were reported and no arrests were affected during the operation.”
