KNYSNA NEWS - Saturday's parkrun nearly turned into a wet run, but luckily, the heavens held back for most of the event, with only a fine drizzle setting in towards the end.
"It was perfect running conditions," said Brenda Neall, who completed her 200th parkrun with her four-legged companion, Molly.
One thing about the weekly Knysna parkrun is that it regularly produces new milestones.
Although the damp conditions kept a fair number of regular runners and walkers at home, the die-hard parkrunners still turned up for their weekly exercise.
Tyler Abrahams proved too strong for the field of fewer than 100 participants, completing the 5km course in a swift 17:03.66. Close on his heels was his nephew, Mika, who finished in 20:12.81.
Ten-year-old Brooklyn Veldkornett was the first female across the finish line, accompanied by her dad, Warren Petersen.
Race director Ivan Palmer once again delighted the finishers with his welcoming applause. Together with his team of volunteers, he helped turn a damp Saturday morning into another satisfying parkrun occasion.
