KNYSNA ELECTION NEWS - With the upcoming elections around the corner, Knysna-Plett Herald spoke to local business owners to find out which service delivery improvements they believe would make the biggest difference to their businesses.
From reliable water and electricity supplies to better road maintenance, cleaner public spaces and improved infrastructure, effective municipal services play an important role in creating an environment in which businesses can operate and grow.
Business owners were asked to identify their biggest service delivery concerns, explain how these affect their day-to-day operations and highlight what they would like the municipality to prioritise after the elections.
Their responses offer insight into the challenges facing local businesses and the practical changes they believe could help strengthen the local economy, support job creation and improve conditions for both businesses and the communities they serve.
Eddie Murisa (Eddies TV Repairs):
Murisa said the road markings, particularly painted street names used to identify roads, need attention.
“Clearly visible and well-maintained street names are important to help motorists and visitors locate businesses,” he said.
He believes the street names should be repainted and maintained regularly to ensure they remain legible and serve their purpose.
“Although the water supply and quality has improved recently, there is still plenty of room for improvement.”
