PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - This Friday, 23 October, a group of brave men will take to the streets wearing nothing but purple Speedos for the annual Hollard Daredevil Run, turning the town into a sea of purple in support of men’s health.
Chris Sounes, local co-ordinator of this popular annual event, says 50 men have already registered. “The run is loads of fun, and every year the Speedos steal the show. Most importantly, it’s all in support of a very worthy cause.”
The run starts at 15:00 from the Insurance & Investment Shop in the Upper Deck Building.
The annual Hollard Daredevil Run/Walk, which promotes the early detection and prevention of prostate cancer, takes place on Friday, and events will be held across the Western Cape. Knysna will host its own run in November.
The Hollard Daredevil Run, held in towns and cities across South Africa, has been going strong for 17 years and shows no signs of putting its trousers back on.
