KNYSNA | BITOU NEWS – While last week's Covid-19 figures indicated a rise in active cases in both Knysna and Bitou, this week matters stabilised as Knysna's numbers have dropped slightly while Bitou's stayed level.
As at Tuesday 27 April, Knysna had recorded a total of 4 826 cases of Covid-19, of which 4 648 have recovered, 159 have died, and 19 are active cases.
This indicates six new cases in the seven days between20 and 27 April, a very small drop from the seven new cases seen in the six days between 14 and 20 April. With the active cases now at 19, it marks a small decrease from the week prior where Knysna had recorded 24 active cases.
The number of deaths stands on 159, up by one from last week, while the recovery rate is now 96,31% and the mortality rate is 3,3%.

In Bitou, as at Tuesday, 2 761 Covid-19 cases had been recorded, with 2 645 having recovered, 100 having died, and 16 being active cases.
