KNYSNA NEWS - Voota FC produced a strong second-half comeback to beat Fast Eleven FC 2-1 in a Safa Eden Regional Men's League clash at Safe Hub in Knysna last weekend.
Fast Eleven started brightly and took an early lead through 17-year-old Oyama Gushu, a Grade 12 learner at Imizamo Yethu Secondary School in George, who finished well after a fast-paced opening in which both sides pressed high and created chances.
Voota FC responded with pressure of their own but went into halftime trailing 1-0 after failing to convert their opportunities in front of the goal.
The home side returned with greater urgency in the second half and were rewarded when Anovuyo Baliso produced a fine solo run from midfield before equalising to make it 1-1.
The goal shifted the momentum firmly in Voota's favour as they continued to push forward.
Baliso then struck again to complete his brace, scoring the goal that sealed a 2-1 win for the Knysna side. Fast Eleven pushed for a response but Voota managed the closing stages effectively to secure all three points.
The result lifts Voota FC to sixth place on 49 points after 30 matches, while Fast Eleven remains in 10th position.
