KNYSNA NEWS - Police are appealing to members of the public to assist in tracing the next of kin of a woman who died after being struck by a vehicle on the N2 in Knysna on Thursday evening.
According to initial reports, officers from Knysna police responded to an accident on the N2 near the turn-off to Hornlee at approximately 18:30 on 4 June.
Upon arrival, police found the woman lying on the roadway after she had allegedly been hit by a minibus taxi travelling towards the Knysna central business district.
The victim sustained multiple injuries and was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.
Police have launched a search to locate the deceased's relatives and identify her next of kin. At the time of the incident, the woman was wearing a green top, black pants and white slippers.
The circumstances surrounding the accident are under investigation.
