KNYSNA NEWS & VIDEO - If you are registered to cast your vote at the voting station at Percy Mdala High School, you are one of the lucky few Knysna voters who can receive their Covid-19 vaccine at the same time.

There are 1 000 voting stations nationwide that have been coupled with Covid-19 vaccination sites in a bid to strengthen the roll-out of the Covid-19 vaccine in South Africa. However, there is only one in Knysna - at the Percy Mdala High School, one of the voting stations for Ward 7.

The voting station itself is open until 21:00 tonight, while the vaccination site is open until 14:00 or while vaccine supplies last.

Ward 7 has historically been a stronghold for the ANC. However, support has waned ever so slightly in recent elections, dropping by 16,54% between the 2011 and 2016 local government elections.

This year they face opposition from 15 other parties as they try to stay in control of the ward.
