BUSINESS NEWS - Oakhill School is pleased to extend its sincere gratitude to all sponsors, donors and participants who made the annual Oakhill Foundation Trust Bursary Golf Day such a resounding success.
Hosted at the outstanding Knysna Golf Club on Sunday 30 August, the event brought together Oakhill families, alumni and friends for a wonderful day of golf, community spirit and generosity - helped along by perfect weather.
Through the kindness of individuals, local businesses and corporate sponsors, the golf day raised crucial funds to directly benefit deserving learners from disadvantaged communities in Knysna and Plettenberg Bays areas, opening doors to an Oakhill education. Beyond the fairways, the event highlighted the power of collaboration and a shared belief in education as a catalyst for transformation.
The Oakhill Foundation Trust extends its deepest appreciation to the many sponsors, host venue Knysna Golf Club, the parent committee and Oakhill marketing team. Heartfelt thanks also go to all local businesses sponsoring holes, donors contributing auction and raffle prizes, and every participating golfer.
All contributions have a lasting impact, not only on the lives of our bursary learners, but also on the broader Knysna community.
Founded by the Oakhill School Board in 2017, the Oakhill Foundation Trust is a registered public benefit organisation. Its vision is to welcome new bursary learners each year, providing a holistic experience that fosters academic excellence, creativity, integrity and the school’s core ethos: ‘The Joy of Learning’.
“The Oakhill Foundation Trust exists to ensure that a world-class, life-changing education isn’t just reserved for a fortunate few, but is accessible to bright, talented learners who simply wouldn’t have the opportunity otherwise,” said the head of school, James Cross. “Education is the greatest equaliser we have, and through such initiatives, we are opening doors that would otherwise stay locked.”
