KNYSNA NEWS - Acclaimed South African author Barbara Townsend will launch her latest book, The Colour of Flying, in Knysna on Tuesday 21 October.
Everyone is invited to join the event, to be held at the Methodist Church hall in Montagu Street, Rexford, starting at 18:00.
Set in 1953, the story follows Missy B, a three-year-old whose world is turned upside down by events that shape her future.
Through this child's-eye view, Townsend explores themes of love, loss and resilience, blending humour and poignancy in a tale that resonates across generations.
Townsend, author of Ida's Line and Out of Mind - A Story of Robben Island, is known for giving voice to those often unheard.
Writer Carmel Rickard calls the book "a remarkable portrayal of a child's developing consciousness".
The event will be introduced by William Charlton-Perkins, with tea and refreshments served. Townsend will also be interviewed at the George Museum on Wednesday 22 October at 11:00. For any enquiries, contact Townsend on 083 315 9211.
