KNYSNA NEWS - Nekkies resident Sandiso Faku (36) was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment by Judge Andre le Grange in the George Circuit High Court yesterday, Wednesday 15 October, for the brutal killing of his girlfriend in Knysna earlier this year.
A statement released by Southern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies said on 26 April this year, Faku and his girlfriend, Ntombizodwa Mei (36), were involved in a domestic dispute at his home in Nekkies, Knysna.
Faku strangled Mei until she lost consciousness and died. He then tried to hide her body in a pit toilet.
The next day, 27 April, the police were called out to the home and discovered the body during their search, according to Spies.
Faku was arrested after the discovery.Faku, who abandoned his bail application in May and subsequently plead guilty, was found guilty on charges of murder and defeating the ends of justice on Tuesday 14 October.
