KNYSNA NEWS - The by-elections in Knysna got off to a slow start with just over 620 registered voters having cast their votes in Ward 9 by 13:00 this afternoon.
In Ward 10 just more than 630 have cast their vote where the ANC and DA are battling it out for the vacant seat in the Knysna Municipal Council.
The battle in Ward 10 doesn’t seem to be too huge. According to a reliable source, the ANC have not yet received 10 votes by 13:00.
In Ward 9 where the DA, COPE, ICOSA and the ANC are fighting for the other vacant council seat, it seems like the newcomer to the Knysna election battlefield, ICOSA, is giving the DA some competition, with just more than 150 votes already in its favour, but the DA is still well ahead with just more than 450 crosses behind Mark Willemse’s name.
The ANC and COPE currently have to be satisfied with the leftovers of fewer than 30 votes. The voting stations will remain open until 21:00 tonight.
