Update
KNYSNA NEWS - The formerly stricken Knysna Paddle Cruiser has now been dry-docked for a full investigation into the circumstances that led to it partially capsizing about two weeks ago.
This after it was successfully refloated by expert divers and salvors from Port Elizabeth last week.
Knysna's Paddle Cruiser was discovered partially capsized at its moorings on the banks of the Knysna Estuary during the early hours of 12 April.
Its port (left) hull was underwater and resting on the floor of the estuary. No one was on board at the time of the incident.
The salvage operation began almost immediately, with steps to prevent pollution of the estuary being the first priority.
The salvors righted the boat on 17 April, using massive inflatable air bags. The vessel was then placed under observation at its moorings for 24 hours before being dry-docked for the investigation into the cause of the sinking, whereafter cleanup and restoration will commence.
