KNYSNA NEWS - Instead of hoarding Easter treats for themselves, like most children do over this festive period, the learners of Stepping Stones and Riverwood School collected Easter eggs as part of a community outreach project.
Not only did the learners collect almost 2000 eggs, they also created beautiful containers for the eggs as well as bunny bookmarks to hand out.
Many of the Easter eggs were handed over to the Knysna Education Trust for distribution to their affiliated schools. Stepping Stones, the pre-school section of the school, also visited Garden Gates Retirement Village. After singing a few songs to the delight of the elderly residents, the youngsters handed over some Easter eggs and their bunny bookmarks to them.
The Rainbow of Hope pre-school and Noleen's Soup Kitchen in Hornlee also received Easter eggs as part of the outreach.
