PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Police have arrested three people in Plettenberg Bay after seizing drugs and ammunition over the past weekend. The arrests of the men formed part of operations by police units in the Garden Route District, which resulted in a total of 316 suspects being arrested.
According to a Western Cape Police media statement released earlier today, officers on patrol in Kranshoek near Plettenberg Bay arrested a 27-year-old man yesterday, Sunday 9 June, on a charge of unlawful possession of drugs.
Encountering the suspicious-looking man, they searched him and found 22 tik straws, nine halves and 15 quarters of Mandrax tablets in his possession.
The drugs were seized. On Friday, officers of Kwanokuthula in Plettenberg Bay, armed with a search warrant, entered a home in Angola Street, Kwanokuthula, after receiving information from members of the public.
Officers stop and search a vehicle.
The officers found 38 rounds of ammunition for a .38 Special revolver in a safe, and a man, the occupant of the home, was unable to provide a licence for the ammunition.
The man (50) was arrested, charged with unlawful possession of ammunition, and the ammunition confiscated. Later on Friday, officers entered a home in Phase 5, Kwanokuthula, where they found and confiscated a small quantity of cocaine. A man (49) was arrested and charged with illegal possession of drugs.
