KNYSNA | PLETTENBERG BAY ENTERTAINMENT NEWS - The entertainment industry - and live music in particular - has been hit hard in the past year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, with live shows either being prohibited entirely or attendance numbers being severely restricted.
But despite the challenges, the industry has persevered and live performances are showing a resurgence, with a number of items on the calendar for March and April. Especially since the easing of lockdown to level 1 from Monday, 1 March, organisers have hosted an array of popular live music events with an exciting line-up waiting in the wings for the coming weeks.
In the past month and a bit, Knysna has welcomed the likes of PJ Powers, Albert Frost, Dan Patlansky and Gerald Clark for the first time in more than a year.
The coming line-up looks equally good, with the legendary Radio Kalahari Orkes scheduled to appear at Blend Country Restaurant on Saturday 27 March, followed by Prime Circle (28 March), Ard Matthews (1 April), Karen Zoid (2 April), The Parlotones (3 April), Jesse Clegg (4 April), and comedian Kevin Fraser on 5 April.
Radio Kalahari Orkes will play at Blend in Knysna on 27 March.
Tapas and Drydock have also resumed hosting live music on Fridays and Saturdays, with Cloud 9 (19 March) and Rebel Remedy (26 March) to play at Tapas, and Brighitte Deister (20 March) and Janine (27 March) scheduled for Drydock. Muse Fusion Food will host Wiam Otto on 26 March.
