In the Knysna-Plett Herald (KPH) edition of January 26, it was reported that a small informal community, the Old Club Timbers community in Hoogekraal, near Karatara between Sedgefield and Knysna, was struggling with basic service delivery. The community has been living there for generations – more than 30 years, according to resident Thami Mgoba – and started with the workers of the old saw mill that used to operate on a farm nearby. “I have been here 35 years. We have people whose children have had children by now,” he said.
