KNYSNA SPORT NEWS - Much like Blue Swede has had people "hooked on a feeling" since 1972, the annual Oakhill Waterfront Chukka festivals once again has Knysna hooked on water polo action.
The first of the three – the U13 Chukka Festival – got under way on Thursday 6 February when 16 schools checked into their accommodations.
Fixtures officially kicked off the next day in the two pools at the Knysna Waterfront and Knysna Quays – one positioned outside Drydock and the second outside 34° South.
The 16 schools comprised 15 boys' and 11 girls' teams taking part in the festival, which was held in a competitive yet predominantly friendly nature. Over the course of the two days of action, there would be 105 games of water polo played, of which 104 were children's games. The final saw coaches from the various teams taking each other on in a clash on Saturday to round out the weekend's games.

A prize-giving ceremony was held after the coaches' match on Saturday, with the schools eventually heading back home to their various corners of the country on Sunday. The next chukka festival comes in the form of the U19 installment this weekend, when 20 schools comprising 14 boys' and 16 girls' teams are set to take part.
