KNYSNA | PLETTENBURG BAY NEWS - Only one of the four rugby clubs from Knysna and Plettenberg Bay saw their first team claim a victory in SWD Rugby's club structures, with Knysna United seeing off a stiff challenge from Collegians in Oudtshoorn.
The clubs are Bitou, Jaguars, Knysna United, and Sedgefield Eagle Stars. Jaguars and Eagle Stars play in the SWD Super League A, SWD's top level of club rugby.

Knysna United play in SWD Super League B (second division), and Bitou play in SWD First Division East League – the regionalised third division of local club rugby.
All four of the clubs were in action on Saturday 2 April with Bitou playing their first fixtures of the season while each of the other three clubs has played three games so far.
For their first taste of league action in two years, Bitou faced Riversdale in Plettenberg Bay.
The second team emerged victorious in the first game of the day, winning 27-19, while the first team lost a nail-biter of a game with a score of 18-17.
Knysna United played their matches away in Oudtshoorn, coming up against Collegians.

In a reversal of Bitou's fortunes, Knysna United's second team lost 23-10. The first team however won a tough game 22-17.
Eagle Stars were at home, and faced a tough day yet again, with defending SWD champions Crusaders lying in wait for the Sedgefield men.
Eagle Stars and Crusaders' third teams kicked off the day's action in Smutsville. Crusaders emerged victors 47-8 to set the tone for the remaining two games.
Eagle Stars' second team proved the most competitive of their three sides, but were still no match for Crusaders who won out 47-21 at the final whistle.

The first teams' game was a tough one for the home crowd to endure, as Crusaders beat Eagle Stars 59-3 to secure a very positive outcome for them.
Jaguars were away to Maoris in George, with all three their sides travelling from Plett. It was a tough outing for the Plettonians, as all three sides lost.
First up, the third teams battled it out with Maoris winning 15-5. Next up Jaguars' second team couldn't register a point as they lost 34-0.
The first teams played out a tough game, with the home team ultimately emerging 26-19 victors.
