KNYSNA NEWS - In their first derby day since before the Covid-19 pandemic, Knysna High School thoroughly dominated against Hoërskool Sentraal on Saturday 20 August.
The Tuskies won seven matches out of the nine that were played across three different sports disciplines.
Knysna High School (KHS) and Hoërskool Sentraal have a long-standing rivalry that stretches back more than two decades, but when Covid-19 broke out in 2020 their annual derby day clashes came to a halt.
That is until last weekend, when hundreds of schoolchildren made the trip from Beaufort West to Knysna to lock horns for the first Knysna/Sentraal derby day in three years on Saturday 20 August.
A great programme was set out for the day with nine matches scheduled across three sports disciplines - netball, rugby and hockey.
The netball was moved to the Knysna Primary School hall due to the heavy rain, while the rugby and hockey were still held at the Knysna High School sports fields. Chess was also played in the KHS hall, which KHS won by a tally of 6,5 - 4,5.
