KNYSNA NEWS - Pezula Private Estate hosted a 'Field of Dreams' day bringing together 120 learners from 12 local schools for a day of sport, nature and motivation at the estate's sports grounds.
The event was held in support of the Knysna Initiative for Learning and Teaching (KILT) and aimed to offer young learners an opportunity to engage in fun and active outdoor experiences in a safe and beautiful setting.
The day began with a warm welcome from the Pezula Private Estate Homeowners Association, followed by an inspiring motivational talk by Mark Hamlin.
Learners were then treated to breakfast, generously donated by More Gallery on Leisure Island, and they also received gift packs containing lunchboxes, water bottles and stationery.
Children participated in a full day of activities including netball, mini golf, soccer, hiking, and tree planting - all designed to encourage teamwork, confidence and a connection with nature.
Activities that encourage teamwork were a big hit with the learners.
Each learner was awarded a participation medal before enjoying a well-deserved lunch.
The soccer matches got the adrenaline going.
This special initiative was made possible by the generosity of sponsors and supporters which included all the Pezula Private Estate homeowners, Engel & Völkers, Knysna Fine Arts, Superspar Knysna, Hästens, Morten Bredahl & Partners, Oasis Water, More Gallery, Leisure Isle, Signifix Branding & Printing Solutions, Blitsdruk, and Van Rensburgs Foods.
The golf was great fun.
