KNYSNA NEWS - On Wednesday 22 August, Knysna Secondary School (Loeries) and Knysna High School (Tuskies) had their annual sports derby on the Knysna High School sports grounds ensuring nonstop action as these two local schools butted heads in three various sports codes.
The Loeries and Tuskies battled it out in netball, rugby and soccer.
Knysna Secondary School’s (KSS) U18 first rugby team won their game 12-5 with tries scored by Renaldo van Rooyen and Jason White, and a successful conversion by JC Kolbee. The U16 rugby game’s final score was 47-7 in favour of Knysna High School (KHS).

The KSS soccer teams continued the U18 rugby team's winning ways by coming out tops in both soccer games, with the U16 and U18 teams winning 2-0 respectively.
KHS fought back on the netball courts though and won both the U16 and U19 games with scores of 12-7 and 20-9 respectively.
The KSS U18 soccer team also participated in the first round of the Motsepe Cup held at the Hornlee sports grounds on Thursday 23 August 2018.
The Loeries scored 4-2 in their first game against KHS and played to a 1-each draw in their second game against Concordia High School.

KSS thanks all the learners who participated in these sporting events. Thanks to all the coaches and teachers involved in investing, developing and shaping our learners’ future. We extend our gratitude to KHS for hosting this year’s derby and we look forward to next year’s match-up.
