SAILING NEWS - After a fairly long hiatus, the September Hobie Fun Regatta is making a welcome return to the Knysna Yacht Club calendar.
"We're thrilled to announce that it will be relaunched, promising an unforgettable experience for all cat sailing enthusiasts!" Judith Herald, committee member at KYC, said excitedly.
Some of the best sailors from Knysna, Plett, Cape Town and Gqeberha of all ages will compete in thrilling races on the open water of the Knysna Estuary.
"Their expertise and passion for sailing will leave you in awe as will the spectacle of multi-coloured Hobie sails on the lagoon!"
All catamaran classes are welcome and the emphasis will be on fun and getting sailors back on the water.
"Calling all locals and visitors with a boat to dust off the winter cobwebs and come and sail, even if you haven't done so in a while! Whether you're a seasoned sailor or simply looking for a day of fun and excitement, this fun sailing event is the perfect occasion to indulge your adventurous spirit and soak up the atmosphere."
If your sea legs are not so keen on taking part, and you would rather watch on from dry land, you should still mark your calendars and join in on the fun on 9 and 10 September at the yacht club.
