The game was tightly contested, as a final should be, and York scored early in the first half. With the first half drawing to a close, Knysna created more and more opportunities, but were unable to equalise.
The second half heated up very quickly and Knysna got their deserved equaliser, but soon after relinquished there lead once again and then fell two goals behind. With around 10 minutes to go Knysna pulled a second goal back and with the score at 3 - 2 for York, the last 10 minutes were bound to be a tight affair.
Knysna had a few good scoring opportunities, including numerous short corners, but could not capitalise on their dominance in the final quarter.
The final whistle blew and YorkHigh School's players were crowned league champions. Congratulations to both sides for putting on a great display of hockey.
