KNYSNA NEWS AND GALLERY - Town was bustling last week as it played host to four different school sports events over the weekend: two netball and two hockey.
Over time Knysna has consistently proven to be a haven for sports lovers with events that sometimes attract hundreds, if not thousands, of sports lovers to the town, bringing much-needed and much-welcomed business for local enterprises.
While many of these events cater for the adult population, there is also a host that seeks to provide sporting fun for the youngsters.

These are usually organised by schools, but some are organised by private organisations.
Last weekend's four events were a mixture of these two.

Knysna High School (KHS) hosted a netball as well as a hockey festival at their sports fields on Friday 29 April and Saturday 30 April.
The hockey event included KHS themselves, Greenwood Bay College (GBC), Wittedrift High School, George High School and Point High School, while the netball event was competed by GBC, Oakhill, KHS, and Wittedrift.
Oakhill School held their final hockey fest for the year when they hosted the U16 Oakhill Co-Ed Hockey Festival from Thursday 28 April to Sunday 1 May.
This festival saw eight schools - Oakhill, Outeniqua High, St Cyprian's, Somerset College, Reddam House, Pearson High, Kingswood College and Merrifield College - take part with a total of 15 teams and more than 500 children taking part.
Last, but definitely not least, was a netball festival organised by Sport at Backward Point and held at the Knysna Primary School sports fields from Saturday 30 April to Monday 2 May.
More than 20 schools took part in this festival. The first two days saw 68 and 65 matches played on the five courts, all of which were 25 minutes long.
The third and final day saw only 34 matches played as visiting schools returned home.
