KNYSNA HOCKEY NEWS - Knysna High School hockey players not only honed their skills during the recent school holidays but also proved their mettle on the field.
About 22 hockey players and three coaches attended a coaching clinic and tournament in Ceres between 15 and 18 March.
Ten schools attended the clinic including three from the Eden District and seven from the Boland District.
The youngsters played two matches a day and also attended two daily coaching sessions.
During the seven matches played by the boys, they managed to win six and draw one. The girls also played seven matches, of which they won one match, drew four and lost two.
Some of the boys who particularly showed off their skills were Kyle Groome, Renzo Bouwer and Treslin Tanda.
Among the girls, Buhle Gogwana and Leandre Greeff also made an impression.
The Knysna High School boys' team were crowned one of the best of the tournament.
