KNYSNA NEWS - Coyote Events recently announced that it will be hosting its third and final event in its obstacle trail series, the Urban X3, on 21 March, once again set to take place at Blackwaters River Lodge.
Organisers are hoping to go out with a bang, incorporating new exciting obstacles in the 3km trail run and obstacle course. As previously, there will be no tough obstacles requiring excessive upper body strength, so anyone can do it.
This means you can bring the family along for a fun outdoor morning and be home in time for an afternoon nap. After the race, you will get the chance to rest and recuperate while participating in the many lucky draws and enjoying the entertainment by the event's charity, Sedgefield Eagle Stars, as they give a short ball skills demonstration.
The Eagle Stars Rugby Club will also be marshalling during the event, so participants who need some lifting will be in strong hands.
Bomber Webb was on hand to sling powdered colour paint at participants in the first Urban X last year.
Title sponsor of the series, SUUNTO, will be sponsoring a SUUNTO 5 watch that can be won via a raffle, and those that have participated in all 3 SUUNTO Urban X events gain three entries in the raffle. Otherwise, you will still be able to purchase your own ticket/s to enter the raffle.
"Coyote Events is passionate about supporting our local charities, so with each of our events we choose a charity that a portion of the proceeds will go to," said co-organiser Belinda Hobson. "For this event we have selected the amazingly talented Sedgefield Eagle Stars Rugby Club to benefit from our proceeds."
Donavan van Eyssen and little Qzandré enjoyed some family fun at the second Urban X event.
Participants will also be having a warm-up stretch with Misfit Studio before the start, and after the event there will be a MaxFitt Bodybuilding showcase.
"Please note your safety is paramount to us so we will be following all Covid-19 protocols and we will have medics to look after you at the Urban X event. Please expect to get a little dirty as well as a little wet," Hobson said.
The first 50 finishers will receive a medal. Tickets are R80 for children aged 7 to 14 and R100 for people aged 15 and up. Tickets are available at Knysna Cycle Works, online at Webtickets, Cycle Worx Sedgefield, Chas Everitt George and Sedgefield, as well as at Blackwaters River Lodge.
Jay Jay Ndukwana has taken part in both Urban X races so far.
