PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Former Plettenberg Bay Primary School head girl Jay Kerekes has been selected to represent the Western Cape as part of the U-14 waterpolo team later this year.

She has however put in a lot of hard work and dedication, which paid off with her selection to represent the province at an inter-provincial event in December.
The best waterpolo players from each province will battle it out for the national title.
Jay, who now lives in Cape Town, said this was only the start of her waterpolo journey, and that she planned to hone her skills even further.
Fundraising initiative
Putting her dreams in motion, comes at a cost. To participate in the event in East London in the Eastern Cape from 7 to 11 December, Jay needs to raise R20 000.
This is to cover event costs and her kit.
Her family and the Plett community have come together, and started a fundraising initiative to make her dreams come true.
Her father, Logan Harris, a Plettenberg Bay jeweller, has crafted a 9ct gold set of pansy shell earrings worth just short of R3 000, while local KwikSpar owner Duncan Brown offered a R1 000 shopping voucher, to be won through a raffle draw.
A raffle entry costs R50 and the winner will be announced on 15 November.
