GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - Children from Wessel’s Martial Arts were introduced to the ancient system of Yamanni Ryu Kobudo which is, literally translated, the Ancient Martial Way or Ancient Way of War.

Sensei Wessel Wilms, a practitioner of Yamanni Ryu Kobudo, took the karate kids through the art of Nunchaku (Horse Bit) on a two week special seminar during the last part of 2010. They first and foremost learnt to respect and handle these old style weapons with care and respect.

They were taught kihon (basic handling) and kata (formal patterns).

Yamanni Ryu Kobudo will form an important component of the martial arts school this year for both children and adults.
